The board

President - Harrison Parker

Harrison is a Buckhead native and a proud 2012 Westminster graduate. He majored in computer science at Harvard with a minor in Classical Civilizations. He was on the varsity fencing team and served as design editor for the Harvard Crimson newspaper.

Following college, he moved on to the start up world in Silicon Valley.  Beginning at the Series C cyber threat intelligence startup Anomali, Harrison learned his trade of Sales Engineering in the field of cyber security.

Motivated by a job opportunity, Harrison moved home to Atlanta coinciding with the onset of the pandemic.  The events of 2020 compelled him to actively contribute to the conservative cause.  He currently works at Google as a customer engineer.

Vice President - Jamie Christy

Jamie  is a personal injury attorney at Law & Moran, and a proud Buckhead  product. She attended Westminster from 2002-2013 and the University of  Southern California from 2013-2016, where she graduated cum laude with a  bachelors in Psychology and a minor in French. During her time at  Westminster and USC, she swam competitively for Dynamo Swim Club and  qualified for Olympic Trials. After college, she went to Loyola Law  School in Los Angeles. During law school, she worked at the Los Angeles  District Attorney’s Office and conducted preliminary hearings, keeping  criminals in jail until their trial dates. She also served as a mediator  for the underserved in Los Angeles.

After graduating Loyola Law School, Jamie returned home to Atlanta and  studied for both the California and Georgia bar exams, passing both.  Prior to working at Law & Moran, she clerked for the Honorable  Timothy C. Batten, Sr., Chief Judge of the Northern District of Georgia.  She is excited to make Buckhead great again!

Social Director - Rek LeCounte

Anthony "Rek" LeCounte has worked and volunteered in the liberty  movement for nearly his entire adult life. While living in Northern  Virginia, he worked in communications for the American Legislative  Exchange Council and the Institute for Justice and previously served on  the board of the DC Chapter of the Log Cabin Republicans. He studied  Political Science at Yale and earned his MBA from the University of  Virginia Darden School of Business in 2021, after which, he and his  husband Alex, who graduated from UVA Law School, moved to Atlanta. While  living in Charlottesville, Rek and Alex were married in a ceremony  officiated by their congressman, Denver Riggleman of Virginia's 5th  district, after volunteering for his election campaign during the  contentious 2018 cycle. It marked the first time an incumbent Republican  congressman had ever officiated a same-sex wedding. Rek now works for  Google, where he manages engagement with right-of-center content  creators on YouTube.

Development Chair - Hunter Stanley

After growing up in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Hunter  attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte where he  graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Economics. As a leader  in the Buckhead community, he currently serves as  Vice President for the Buckhead Business Association, Chairman for the  Young Bucks Professional Organization, Board Member for Buckhead Young  Republicans and is an active member of the Buckhead Club. In addition to  his community involvement, Hunter is a former  Division I football player, an Eagle Scout and the founder of Live  Action Capital, an Atlanta based live sports and entertainment  investment company.

Strategy Chair - Zack Knight

Zack started his leadership journey working in the metro-Atlanta area as  a police officer and SWAT Operator. After seven years serving his local  community, he transitioned to the role of an Infantry Leader in the  U.S. Army and continued to serve during a combat deployment to  Afghanistan and locally with the Georgia National Guard.

In  between time away with the military, Zack has been able to build six  businesses ranging from a security consulting firm, a domestic violence  awareness non-profit, to an international dance competition he and his  business partner grew to over 150 countries in the first year of  operation. Zack is also set to release his first book this November,  titled "The Legacy of Love: a Journey of Self-Mastery.'

Membership Director - Harrison Welshimer

Harrison grew up in Wyoming. He likes freedom and doesn’t much appreciate being told what to do. So instead of joining the army, he joined the Peace Corps. After serving in Cambodia, he got a job recruiting for the Peace Corps here in Georgia. Fascinated by the pull and tug of Georgia politics, he decided to get more involved. He’s thrilled to join the board of the Buckhead Young Republicans. When he’s not studying public policy or working, you can find him mountain biking or salsa dancing into the late morning hours.

Treasurer - Carly Hockenberry

Treasurer - Carly Hockenberry

Carly  Hockenberry is a licensed and board-certified behavior analyst, special  educator, and consultant to schools worldwide. Carly graduated from the  University of Pittsburgh and the Florida Institute of Technology. Since  2010, she has focused on treating pediatric patients who struggle with  language acquisition and challenging behavior. Carly comes to us from  Miami where she advocated for pro-Israel policy, lobbied for pediatric  behavior analysis services, and was an active member of the Young Jewish  Conservatives. Carly, along with her puppies Ari and Oskar, now call  Atlanta home and is looking forward to her increased involvement with  Buckhead Young Republicans.

Social Media Director - Sam Kravitz

Sam Kravitz hasn't been in politics long, but did spend around 6 months with the Herschel Walker campaign where he got experience with field events and event planning. Although he enjoyed his time there, he found his true home in media. Sam helped launch the media team at his school where they were able to get 800 followers within 3 days of launching. He is now a director of this team and he works each and everyday to find ways to make those social media accounts better. He is happy he can now apply his skills in another way. There's a lot of work to be done, but he's glad that BYR has faith in him, and cannot wait to make the club the best possible club it can be.
